Microsoft reiterated its support for Activision Blizzard employees who voted to unionize with Raven.

Back in March, the company said it would respect the right of Activision Blizzard employees to choose whether to be represented by labor groups.

At a meeting yesterday, Kotaku reported that Phil Spencer said the company would recognize Raven’s unionization once the merger with Activision Blizzard is complete.

“Once the deal is completed, we will absolutely support the existing employee organization,” Spencer said at the meeting. “We think it’s an employee’s right to be part of the relationship between the company and the people who work for it.”

Despite resistance from Activision Blizzard, Raven Quality Assurance employees unionized on May 23. With 19 employees voting in favor of unionizing, Activision said it didn’t believe a decision that would affect “the entire Raven Software studio of about 350 people” should be “made by 19 Raven employees.”
