XCOM fans obviously have new reason to be happy, because quite unexpectedly a new offshoot of the long-term round strategy series has appeared on the scene.
With XCOM Legends, 2K Games has released a new offshoot of the strategy series almost out of nowhere, although the current soft launch has so far only extended to selected regions. The title is a previously unannounced mobile offshoot of the series, which is now to be tested in some countries via Early Access.
The game is being developed by Iridium Starfish, a California-based studio with ties to Take-Two Interactive, the owner of 2K Games. About the soft launch it simply says: “We are constantly testing new experiences in order to be able to offer our fans the best entertainment. Iridium Stafisch has therefore released XCOM Legends via soft launch in selected territories, but we don’t have any more at the moment Communicate information. “
The game remains true to the formula of the XCOM series. It’s a squad-based strategy RPG in which you can tackle a multi-wave campaign as well as PvP battles. In the latter, you can compete with a team of five characters. Thematically, of course, everything revolves around the defense of an alien invasion.
Legendary heroes can be unlocked in battles, as can other characters and other rewards. Early access is initially available via Google Play Store available for Android. Information on the global launch of the game is not yet available.
