  2. Processor and memory

  3. Battery, runtime and charging

  4. Camera

  5. Material and design

  6. Price and availability

Please note: For the time being it is not known which models will be released in Europe. An official presentation of the global versions is still pending. However, it is very likely that at least the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Pro will also be available from us in a similar configuration. A “stripped down” model similar to the 12X is also conceivable. Therefore, we want to offer you an outlook here.

Display, format and size

The Xiaomi 12 models are smaller than their predecessors. The display of the standard version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 measures 6.81 inches and has the dimensions 164.3 x 74.6 x 8.1 mm. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is equipped with a 6.73-inch display and measures 163.6 x 74.6 x 8.2 mm.

Xiaomi 12 and 12X are a little more compact. They are equipped with a 6.28 inch display and measure 152.7 x 69.9 x 8.2 mm. The Xiaomi 12 is basically a rather compact mobile phone.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro also differs from the two “smaller” versions in terms of display technology. Xiaomi 12 and 12X are equipped with Full HD + AMOLED displays, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro comes with a 2K AMOLED display.

This creates a quality difference that can be illustrated by the pixel density of pixels per inch (ppi). For the 12 and 12X, the pixel density is 419 ppi, for the 12 Pro it is around 521 ppi. Good news for mobile gamers: All three displays have a refresh rate of 120 megahertz.

Processor and memory

Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro are equipped with the latest Qualcomm chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Both versions appear in the following memory configurations:

  • 8 GB + 128 GB
  • 8 GB + 256 GB
  • 12 GB + 256 GB

The Xiaomi 12X, on the other hand, uses the somewhat older Qualcomm Snapdragon 870. However, the memory configurations are the same as in the “large” versions. Memory expansion is not possible with any version.

Battery, runtime and charging

The differences in battery volume are not very big. The battery of the Xiaomi 12 and 12X has a capacity of 4,500 mAh, whereas the battery of the 12 Pro with 4,600mAh only holds 100 mAh more. So far there is no data that reveals more details about the battery life.

In contrast to the other two models, the Xiaomi 12X cannot be charged wirelessly. This function offers 50 watts of wireless charging and is only included in the “larger” versions Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. Wired charge the 12 and 12X with up to 67 watts and the 12 Pro even with up to 120 watts.

Camera

The Xiaomi 12 versions are equipped with triple camera configurations. Xiaomi 12 and 12X are equipped with a 50 megapixel main sensor. This is supplemented by a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 5-megapixel macro camera.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro has three 50 megapixel cameras. Here the constellation consists of a main sensor, an ultra-wide-angle camera and a telephoto lens camera with double zoom. The three models are equipped with 32-megapixel front cameras.

Material and design

The display and the back of the Xiaomi 12 models are made of Gorilla Glass Victus. They are only separated by a narrow plastic frame. The design of the smartphone looks simple and elegant. The housing, the frame and the camera island are monochrome and straightforward.

Four color versions have been announced: black, pink, blue and green. The standard version Xiaomi 12 can optionally be purchased with a back made of green, vegan leather.
