Xiaomi’s first electric vehicle, the SU7, has completed a long test drive. A fan blog reports groundbreaking results and signals for electromobility.
Xiaomi’s first electric car, the SU7, has already created a hype before its market launch in April. Within the first 27 minutes, 50,000 units were pre-ordered in China. Now one of these electric cars has completed a test drive.
From China to Istanbul in 28 days. A Xiaomi SU7 is said to have covered this distance of over 10,000 kilometers, according to the fan blog XiaomiTime reported. The car is said to have completed the entire route without any serious technical problems.
Autonomous driving tested in different terrains
According to the fan blog, Xiaomi tested the autonomous driving capabilities of the SU7 during the route, in various terrains such as the steppes of Central Asia and the mountain passes of Eastern Europe. However, it is unclear how much of the route the SU7 actually drove autonomously in the end.
The automotive journalist YesWeCar shows in a post that the SU7 from Xiaomi can also do something different on X (formerly Twitter)
10,000 km is not a record
Xiaomi does not set a record with the test drive. The automobile magazine The Drive In this context, mentions an electric car from market leader Tesla (2015), which is still running after more than 680,000 kilometers – but in this case the car has also undergone some repairs.
Admittedly, Tesla’s models cost a few thousand dollars more than the SU7, but they have already proven the longevity of electric cars. Xiaomi is not setting a milestone for the industry, but only for itself.
