The Redmi Note 12 models from Xiaomi are already available in China and will soon be available in Germany. But how do Redmi Note 12, 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ differ from each other?
In China, Xiaomi presented the Redmi Note 12, the successor to the popular Redmi Note 11 series, back in October 2022. It consists of four models here: the Redmi Note 12, the Redmi Note 12 Pro, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and the Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. It is still unclear whether all models will also appear in this country in 2023. Nevertheless, a first comparison is worthwhile.

Conclusion
However, we will only compare the first three models with each other, since the last phone is only a Pro+ with a better fast charging function.
display and size
The Redmi Note 12 is slightly larger than the other two models at 165.9 x 76.2 x 8 millimeters (mm). These are 162.9mm long and 76mm wide, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ is 9mm, 1.1mm thicker than the regular Redmi Note 12 Pro.
The display is 6.67 inches in all models and offers a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hertz. The Redmi Note 12 comes with an AMOLED panel, while the Pro models have an OLED panel. In addition to Dolby Vision and HDR10+, the Note Pro smartphones also have a fingerprint sensor in the display.
power
The regular Redmi Note 12 is equipped with a last-generation Qualcomm processor. While the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 can deliver solid performance, it looks rather dated compared to newer chipsets. The maximum of 8 gigabytes of RAM also limits the computing power. The Pro and Pro+, on the other hand, have a lot of power under the hood with the MediaTek Dimensity 1080. The processor runs at a frequency of 2.6 gigahertz and is supported by up to 12 gigabytes of RAM.
The Pro smartphones are also ahead when it comes to the graphics unit. These both feature a Mali-G68 MC4 GPU, while the Note 12 has to settle for an Adreno 619.
Camera
When it comes to the camera, the Note 12 Pro and Note 12 Pro+ can also score plus points. The setup consists of a 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2-megapixel macro camera. In addition, video recordings with a resolution of 4K at 30 FPS are possible.
The Redmi Note 12’s dual camera only manages 1080p at 30 FPS. Here the main camera has 48 megapixels and is supported by a depth sensor with 2 megapixels. Rumor has it that Xiaomi could give the international version a third camera sensor.
battery and charging speed
All three models have a battery with a capacity of 5,000 mAh, with charging taking place at different speeds. The Pro+ version can be charged with up to 120 watts, whereas the Pro “only” has 67 watts. The normal Note 12 can at least be charged with 33 watts. The leader in this category is the aforementioned Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition. This can be charged with up to 210 watts.
Prices
The pricing of the Note 12 range is pretty fair, especially considering the specs. The normal model costs the equivalent of 179 dollars with 4 gigabytes of RAM and 128 GB of storage space. The Note 12 Pro is $259 with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Pro+ is $329 with the same configurations. However, it can be assumed that the devices will be offered at a slightly higher price in this country.
Conclusion
If you’re looking for an affordable mid-range Android smartphone, then the Note 12 series might be worth waiting for. There are currently not many comparable smartphones with good specifications, especially in this price category. It is unclear when exactly the release will take place in Germany, but with a little luck the cell phones will come to us in January.
