“Yellowstone” is also doing very well in Season 5, but problems with Kevin Costner should now ensure that the series ends and the Duttons’ story is continued in a spin-off.
- As a modern mix of “Sons of Anarchy” and “Dallas” “Yellowstone” inspires the audience.
- Now, however, the end of the series could be imminent since Kevin Costner and Paramount are no longer in agreement.
- The story is set to continue in a new series starring Matthew McConaughey.
“Yellowstone” has been one of the most popular series in the USA for years, and in Germany many series fans have developed a taste for it since the start of Paramount+ at the latest. Due to the great success, the future of “Yellowstone” seemed secured, but now it’s going to be quite different.
How Deadline Paramount and series creator Taylor Sheridan plan to end “Yellowstone” soon, but continue the story in a spin-off. True Detective star Matthew McConaughey is set to star in this new series.
According to Deadline, “Yellowstone” actor Kevin Costner wants to devote more time to other projects, which is why he has repeatedly asked Paramount to reduce the number of filming days. However, with John Dutton at the center of the story, this is not possible, which is why Paramount is preparing behind the scenes for the conclusion of the series.
Unlike the spin-offs “1899” and “1923”, the new spin-off with Matthew McConaughey is supposed to follow “Yellowstone” directly, which means that various actors from the main series could participate. The end of “Yellowstone” would therefore simply mean the end of John Dutton.
It is not known whether the current 5th season of “Yellowstone” is already the grand finale or whether season 6 is still waiting for us. So far, Paramount has kept all plans of this kind to itself, but one thing is certain: even if “Yellowstone” ends – the “Yellowstone” universe is just beginning at Paramount!
