Remember that mission in Annihilation where you crashed a dinner party and cast a cheeky underwear-based spell on some rich people? Well, the developers of Skyblivion just showed us a massively modded version of it at the C3 showcase.
For those unfamiliar, Skyblivion is a large-scale modding project that is remaking the fourth entry in the Elder Scrolls series using the Skyrim engine. The team behind it is currently set to finally release their incredible creation in 2025, but has been giving fans plenty of previews and sneak peeks in the meantime, the latest of which will be released as part of Bethesda’s massive community modding showcase C3.

In the latest Skyblivion showcase livestream, project lead Kyle “Rebelsize” Rebel and mission developer Scott “Fishfiend” Whiting kicked things off with a fun little Imp model in an improvised form. Interestingly, the team is currently in the mod development phase, with certain locations being finalized, while other locations related to specific missions are busy giving them a makeover to make them look cooler than they did in the original game, taking advantage of the smaller locations used. New engine.
One of the later locations is Cloudtop in the Mountain Mage Guild quest, which has been transformed into an impressive ruins that’s a fitting home for some of the most useful or least useful spells in the game, depending on where your character is level. Another really cool feature is that the team made it a priority to ensure that the Imperial City’s iconic White Gold Tower is visible from anywhere outdoors in Cyrodiil, and that the tower is quite tall.
On the quest front, the modders showed off some side adventures that will serve as a wake-up call for Elder Scrolls veterans. As mentioned, we were treated to Sangean’s Diedric mission, which, if you don’t remember, included traveling to Leiawein and spicing up a dinner hosted by Countess Alessia Carlo. This is accomplished via a spell called “Stark Reality,” which will randomly remove equipment from guests and your character, leaving everyone running around in their pants and screaming.
Yes, it’s just as fun this time around.
Back to serious matters, modders are still hard at work finishing up some Annihilation-related builds, like the Land of the Dead and those iconic gates scattered across the landscape, as well as adding things like actual stars in the night sky.
Going forward, the team will be writing a development diary that will include the upcoming release of Chorol City. Modders have also been thinking about some post-launch plans for the mod – some teams are planning to add some Oblivion DLC to it, and they’d also like to see Skyblivion attract other modders’ mods in this way Focus on what real Bethesda games do.
