Many Dragon Age fans were disappointed with how few decisions from previous games were included in Veiled Keeper, but BioWare promises they'll still matter.
One of the cool things about BioWare games back in the day was that your choices in the previous game would directly affect what happened in the next. This was true of both Mass Effect and Dragon Age, but with Veiled Keeper coming a full decade after Inquisition, one certainly questions whether the previous choices mattered. What's the answer? Not really! Inquisition allows you to import saves from Origins and 2 via The Keep, while Veiled Keeper simply lets you choose some story decisions at the beginning of the RPG, which obviously doesn't have the same impact on all details.

But in an interview with IGN, director Corinne Busche tried to make it clear that the decisions you made in the old game did matter, and that at some point they'll come into play again. “The biggest thing for us was we wanted to make this story so that every choice you make is relevant to it,” Bush explains. “One of the things that we could make clearer or hint at more clearly in the game is that just because these choices from the library of past games don't necessarily impact this particular story, that doesn't mean they're gone.
“This is an opportunity for us to really focus on what's important about these events and what's going on in Northern Thedas. I have every confidence that these options coming back to Dragon Age: Origins will be important again.” Busche also To make it clear, players who have seen the game's secret 2D ending will see that events from past games are “very relevant. It's easy to see how these choices can and will be relevant in the future.”
There's obviously a hint here that there are more games to come, or at least the intention of more games, so you can only hope that your previous decisions will ultimately play out. After all, Veil Keepers has only just come out – any sort of sequel would be years away. In the meantime, you can always replay all your old games and make some new choices!
