Before the holidays-as promised-DICE launched a new playlist update Battlefield 2042 Players on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Available for a limited time, this new experience allows the 64-player version of the game’s conquest and breakthrough maps to be played on the new machine.
These lite versions were previously only available for PS4 and Xbox One players, because older consoles could not support 128 players or larger changes to these maps.
To access the 64-player conquests and breakthroughs, just go to the game’s Total War menu. DICE did not say how long these experiences will last, but they will not last too long. Judging from the way players received recent Rush mode events, the developer may eventually expand the usability for 64 players.
Since the playlist went live this afternoon, players have been praising the more focused map layout and better performance on the PC.
We will not get the “Battlefield 2042” patch again this year; the last update of the game in 2021 was released last week, which improved a series of patches to solve the balance problem, and brought back missing features and fixed major bugs.
In other words, the weekly missions will continue to refresh every week, rewarding players with unique skins and cosmetics after completion. The first of these is actually in the game now.
