Nimona is a real animation highlight
In case you’re wondering what Nimona is all about: The film revolves around a shapeshifter (Chloe Grace Moretz) who is outcast by society and tries to clear the knight Ballister Boldheart (Riz Ahmed) of a crime he did not commit.
Nimona comes with a hell of a lot of humor, charm and an animation style that is really worth seeing. The official trailer for the Netflix film gives you a concrete impression:

Strong reviews and nominated for an Oscar
What critics think of Nimona? The animated film can be viewed on Rotten Tomatoes let a proud average score of 93 percent speak for itself, even viewers scored 91 points. At Metacritic Things also look pretty good with an average of 73 to 75 percent. At IMDb Nimona gets an impressive 7.5 out of ten points.
By the way: Nimona was originally intended to be a Disney film. But the mouse company closed the Blue Sky Studios responsible for it (Ice Age, Rio, Robots) in 2021 and Netflix then snapped up the project.
Nimona has a chance of winning an Oscar in 2024: The fact that Netflix is making Nimona available for free on YouTube is probably not without ulterior motives. The animated adventure was recently included in the category Best Animated Film

The streaming service probably wants to draw more attention to Nimona and bring the film back into the conversation in order to increase the chances of winning the prize.
