Appears after Harry Potter author JK Rowling made a controversial point.
People can choose to be in the upcoming transgender Hogwarts Legacy.
According to a Bloomberg report, the report said that no matter which body shape they decide, players can choose a character with a male or female voice.
This news comes before the dispute over the views of Harry Potter creator JK Rowling and the chief designer of Hogwarts Legacy Troy Leavitt. Caused by the latest report used to run Gamergate’s pro-YouTube channel.
According to reports, the staff of developer Avalanche expressed concerns about Rowling’s views on the transgender community, and then the FAQ released in September 2020 stated that the author was not directly involved in the development of the game.
“JK Rowling was not directly involved in the creation of the game, but her extraordinary writing style is the basis of all projects in The Witcher World. This is not JK Rowling’s new story,” says the FAQ.
The decision to support such character customization in Hogwarts Legacy may be the result of Avalanche’s desire to make the game more inclusive in the face of controversy over Rowling’s views.
The game will be released in the summer of 2020 and is scheduled to be released in 2022.
Hogwarts Legacy is not the only large-budget Triple-A game that allows users to choose to play transgender roles. Cyberpunk 2077 also allows people to customize their avatars for sex change.
