After eleven years, Europa Universalis 4 is huge. The game covers almost 400 years of human history. 38 DLCs have now been released. Paradox Interactive’s global strategy game is a mammoth project in many respects.
If you want to do this to yourself, should hit Steam now: In the current sale you only pay five dollars for EU4! And if you want to buy (almost) all of the add-ons, you’ll have to shell out a whopping 40 dollars for the complete package – normally that costs over 300!

One epic, two offers: Europa Universalis 4 on Steam

If the basic game with the three DLCs isn’t enough for you to start with, Steam has put together an even larger package for Europa Universalis 4. The Ultimate Bundle combines the base game and 19 DLCs from the strategy giant.

That’s what Europa Universalis 4 is all about
The name Europa Universalis (Latin All of Europe
) is a bit misleading. Because the game is not just limited to the continent that gives it its name. In fact, the entire world is playable – from South America to Japan. We were impressed by this in the GameStar post-test from 2020 and the rating was correspondingly high.
In EU4 you take over the fate of an entire nation – not just a single character like in Crusader Kings 3. You have complete freedom of choice. You can raise armies and conquer provinces. You can engage in diplomatic intrigue. You can research technologies, expand trade and forge alliances. And now even take out a subscription for the many, many paid addons:
Everything in the game serves the well-being of your nation, which you lead through almost 400 years of human history, starting in 1444. There is no predetermined goal, and at the same time there are different starting requirements for each nation – which in turn increases the replay value enormously.
No two games are the same because there are so many different ways of interacting between the individual states.
