News culture “You have to trust me” Henry Cavill radically changes his appearance in this James Bond action film
With the exception of his role as Geralt in The Witcher series, actor Henry Cavill rarely undergoes physical transformations for his roles. But for his new film, the actor decided on an explosive style.
Henry Cavill’s return to the cinema
Excluding his cameo in The Flash, it’s been almost two years since we last saw Henry Cavill in a significant role on film. In the end, the actor left The Witcher series and was set to return to the sets by donning the Superman costume once again for the DCEU, but James Gunn, now at the helm of the DC film universe, ultimately decided to reprise the role distribute to achieve this start over.
In fact, we’re still waiting for Henry Cavill to return to the big screen. And that’s a good thing, because the ac tor will soon be starring in Matthew Vaughn’s new film Argylle, which is set to hit theaters at the end of the month.
Just for your hair
After “Kingsman,” Matthew Vaughn returns to espionage with “Argylle,” a project that is clearly in the same vein as the filmmaker’s previous features and is a mix of humor and action. This meta-film is intended to tell the story of Elly Conway, a writer famous for her spy novels, who is embroiled in a secret union affair. She then meets a spy who she begins to confuse with Argylle, the heroine of her novels.
We can expect real entertainment with a distinctive style, as the first images of the film suggest. Matthew Vaughn really wanted to make an impression with the character of Argylle, whose facial features he deliberately exaggerated. A decision that, as he explained, Henry Cavill fully adhered to d’Entertainment Weekly.
His unique style was the brainchild of Matthew (Vaughn). I wanted to have fun with (the character). Matthew said, “Look, this guy is going to have a certain look and you have to trust me. And I have that! This was exactly what I was looking for. (…)
When we see Argylle’s appearance, it is certain that the character does not go unnoticed. Her green velvet outfit and crew cut will certainly make an impression, but it remains to be seen whether the film will be as successful as its hero’s look. Answer in cinemas on January 31st.
