The Cyberpunk 2077 treasure hunt that the tarot cards turned out to be was something that many of us had all but forgotten about, but maybe Cyberpunk Edgerunners encourage us to finish the job.
In the last section of the credits of the series of Netflix (you’ll have to check it from there, because the official video that runs on YouTube with that song is different from the one for Cyberpunk Edgerunners) there is a brief moment in which Lucy appears sitting on the ground in Night City looking at the moon.
Someone has noticed that the sequence, with a pan that does its best to lengthen the image creating a vertical composition, looks very much like one of the tarot cards of Cyberpunk 2077: Moon. In addition to that, his explanation reads:
“The Moon reminds us that not everything is what it seems to the naked eye. In a world of appearances and illusions, intuition tends to trace the best route. The Moon is also the card of dreams, desires and, of course, sleep -the nocturnal ritual of death-“.
By tying both the image and the explanation to the image of the credits, one might think that there is a real connection not only in the composition, but also between the meaning of the letter and the life of Lucy. The doubt has been more than cleared when the producer of the series has answered stating: “Finally someone has noticed“.
