Sometimes you (yes, all of you!) are good for a surprise. When we asked you which topics we to discuss in our new tech podcast, graphics cards came in first and processors in second. So far, so to be expected. However, third place surprised us, because there were – the monitors!
Because the right gaming monitor is a science in itself. If only because of the huge price range: While you can get decent screens for 150 dollars, high-quality models can cost well over 1,000 dollars.

In the podcast, Micha discusses with Nils Raettig and Alexander Köpf from the GameStar Tech team which aspects you need to pay attention to when buying a gaming monitor. Among other things, we discuss the following questions:
- How much do you have to spend for a good gaming monitor?
- What is the most important characteristic of a good gaming monitor?
- How important are the differences in panel types such as IPS, TN and VA?
- What is the difference between OLED, QD-OLED and Mini-LED – and why should you care?
- What advantage can there be in playing on a TV?
- How do we feel about gaming on ultrawide displays in 21:9 or even 32:9 (or 32:10)?
- What do curved monitors bring and what do you have to consider?
- Has HDR even arrived in PC gaming and what makes a good HDR monitor?
- Do you need G-Sync or Freesync?
And of course we tell you which screens we play on personally – even if, according to Nils’ and Alex’ explanations, Micha feels a certain need to upgrade…
