Can’t put down Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s excellent card game Queen’s Blood? The bad news is that it will return in the next game “in a better form.”
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has a lot of mini-games, some good and some bad, but the standout is undoubtedly Queen’s Blood. With its fast-paced gameplay, tight mechanics, and dynamic soundtrack that changes based on your performance, there’s just so much to like. Best of all, there are players everywhere in the game, so you’ll never be short of the next match. In fact, Queen’s Blood is so popular that some fans have called for an actual card game, and at the recent Otacon anime convention in the United States, director Naoki Hamaguchi said he’s even been asked to make it a reality.

“I’ve actually received a lot of requests for it,” Hamaguchi shared. “We’re currently preparing an improved and even better version of Queen’s Blood for the next entry in the series. So I hope to be able to share more in the near future.” This is obviously great news for fans of mini-games, though it can also be a bit of a daunting for anyone who has a hard time pulling away from them. Unsurprisingly, when the panelists were asked what their favorite mini-games were, Queen’s Blood came up a lot, so you can start to see why it’s making a comeback.

Since Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth only released this February, it may be a while before we see any news about the third and final installment in the trilogy (even though it may be released sooner than you think). Personally, I’m looking forward to eventually hearing more about Kingdom Hearts 4, and with D23, Disney’s biggest fan event of the year, just around the corner, I’m hoping we get some news soon.
