Yu-Gi-Oh cross duelKonami’s recently announced four-player digital card game will launch on mobile platforms on September 6th. In this version of YuGiOh, four players occupy a four-player free slot by sending monster lanes to other players.
Additionally, there are co-op modes where each of the four players faces off against a large, powerful monster in the center of the board. If all this shiny multiplayer content isn’t your thing, a single-player mode will also be available at launch.
As with previous Yu-Gi-Oh games, fans of older TV shows can expect to see various characters they recognize pop up in the game, so you can represent your favorite Yu-Gi-Oh cartoon version. Plus, the game has some pretty neat 3D models featuring some of the more iconic monsters, which is sure to mean a lot to those who love the franchise’s biggest hits.
All in all, it’s an interesting twist on the formula that’s sure to be confusing for those invested in traditional formats. At a recent press conference, I asked if the game would be coming to other platforms (as YuGiOh Master Duel seems to be doing well on both PC and consoles). As of now, they have nothing to announce on this front, so you’ll have to let us try out the Cross Duel with your phone at this juncture.
What do you think of this new YuGiOh game? Is the four-way battle spin enough to keep you interested? If you haven’t played a Yu-Gi-Oh game in a while, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel is a great game that – as mentioned – has been successful on many platforms. check it out!
