With the “Clear Speech” function, the TV streaming service Zattoo is expanding its range and becoming more barrier-free: People with hearing impairments in particular benefit from the new soundtrack, which was specially developed for clearer speech and dialogue passages.
With the help of artificial intelligence, loud background noise and music are filtered out of the soundtrack and output much quieter so that the dialogues are easy to understand even at a moderate overall volume. You can select the “Clear Language” audio track via the audio settings of compatible programs on Zattoo.
The “Clear Language” audio track, which was launched on June 1st by public broadcasters, is already available on Zattoo for Das Erste, ZDF, ZDFinfo, ZDFneo, 3sat, NDR, RBB Brandenburg and WDR.
From September 1, 2022, BR, HR, MDR, SWR, SR Radio Bremen TV and ONE will follow.
