The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom on Nintendo Switch puts players in the role of Princess Zelda. Unlike Link, she approaches situations with a scepter that allows her to summon copies of what she has seen. There are over 125 saved echoes in Echoes of Wisdom and inevitably some are stronger than others. We’ve made a list of what we think are the best, be it for exploration or combat.
To add some spice
Cost: 1
The sea urchin doesn’t look like much, but remains impressive when used correctly. This is undoubtedly one of the best echoes of the game’s beginning for several reasons. Simply because you can familiarize yourself with the basic mechanics. We already understand that Echoes need to be invoked multiple times during combat to be effective. And secondly, we can use the sea urchin as a protective shield against our attackers! And finally, the last advantage to remember is that a sea urchin can enter the water without suffocating.
Save money right from the start
Cost: 2
The Echo of Corbos is one of the first you’ll find. Whether you choose to explore the north of Hyrule Castle to complete Igor’s quest or sail west to brave the Gerudo Desert, you’ll quickly encounter him. When you summon him, he attacks a target from which he steals 5 rubies (or even 9) with his first hit.
So use the reflex to summon a Corbos at the start of each fight to capture five rubies from each of your victims. And if you really don’t have any left, look for areas with multiple monsters that are easy to defeat. A little crow session and you’ll be back with plenty of money!
We will always need an old bed
Cost: 1
The Echo of the Old Bed is impossible to miss as it is one of the echoes that you need to remember in the game. During your escape from Hyrule Castle, you’ll be able to memorize it and quickly realize how handy it is. You can use it as a walkway and even build a kind of spiral staircase. The old bed also has the advantage of floating on water. It therefore serves as a preferred support for reaching high edges in the open sea.
If we often forget it in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, a bed is mainly for sleeping and resting. The developers have not forgotten this detail, because resting in a bed allows you to regain your life points. Better quality beds, such as the Soft Bed (found in the Gerudo) and Zelda’s Bed (found in the Castle), are more effective. However, summoning costs more.
Water is life
Cost: 1
The echo of the water cube can quickly recur in your games. Like that of the old bed, the water cube’s echo will be on your way during the main adventure. In the void of the waters of Jabule you will recover it. The advantage of the water cube is that you can connect several of them to swim in them… and it only costs one tri-triangle.
The echo of the water cube is all the more interesting because the shapes that can be created by connecting several cubes are diverse. Everything horizontal, everything vertical, in the shape of an inverted L… The Water Cube will be your default choice when you want to reach a place that seems inaccessible at first glance.
The (almost) flying carpet
Likewise, it is the flying stone that accompanied my forays through the kingdom of Hyrule. If you find them in one of the caves north of the Gerudo Desert, you won’t miss them, as several of them will try to murder you in one of the first rooms of the Gerudo Sanctuary. So remember to memorize it quickly.
Before you can enjoy the glory (compared to the game’s other echoes) of the flying tile, there’s something you need to understand. Like many similar echoes, it moves straight in the direction Zelda called it. Zelda can then jump onto it and cross a chasm without moving a finger. But that’s not all! It can also be synced with. Important information to keep in mind as it allows, for example, navigating against the current underwater.
Lumizole
Lumizol is undoubtedly the most useful Zol. If you can only remember your Echo after the Zol on Ussude Beach, you can regain it quite quickly. It is located in a cave in the Ussude region.
Lumiziol is very useful in several situations in the game that require fire. It allows you to melt ice enemies and burn aircraft monsters (such as Mojo Babas). He can also light braziers, which is sometimes necessary to solve a puzzle. And on the other hand, it allows navigation in dark terrain and then illuminates the surroundings with its flame.
Most aggressive
Like the Sea Urchin, the Reboundou is a formidable Echo to recover at the start of the game. His aggressiveness makes him almost essential, remaining effective even against monsters much more formidable than him. Unlike other monster echoes, the Reboundou attacks the captured target immediately. It can even hit multiple times or even multiple enemies if summoned in the right place. By summoning several in a row, you deal great damage to enemies who also don’t know where to turn.
The Level 1 Echo of Rebondatou is easy to remember as the little beast is located in the Hyrule Meadow. To get the one from level 2, you have to look towards the Gerudo Desert. He is on your way as you explore the Gerudo Shrine.
The two essential spiders
- Costs Soitula 2
- Murtula cost 3
Right at the start of your adventure you will come across two spiders. The Soiula is impossible to miss as it arrives in the continuity of your adventure. Its echo is more than practical, even essential, in two-dimensional environments: when you invoke it, you have to make sure you have the option to ascend or descend.
In another register, it is the Murtula that is equally useful, be it in two dimensions or in three dimensions. By synchronizing with it, if it is called between Zelda and the wall to be climbed, we can reach previously inaccessible heights. It serves as an excellent substitute for the water cube, especially in the Hebra region.
Honorable Mentions
Before I end this top, I would like to mention two particular echoes that hurt our hearts to include. They saved us several times, but under very specific conditions. And precisely because they are situational, we think he still deserves a place of honor in this selection.
In an aquatic environment, Morquin is preferred. It really is him. We also get him back pretty early in the adventure! As the name suggests, it is a species of shark. And in addition to its attack power, the animal is robust. It is immune to most attacks from other maritime species and also has a much stronger attack than itself.
And as you can imagine, when we talk about this useful echo in a marine environment, it is because we are also talking about an echo useful for combating enemies from the air. We haven’t found anything better than the moth to remember in the Gerudo dungeon. There’s even the Level 2 Moth in Firone Moor! Regardless of its strength, the moth quickly attacks its enemies with its powered attack. And often in fights we want to maximize our attack speed.
The most fearsome of all monsters
In the northern sanctuary, a bishop tells you about various rumors. One of them concerns a fearsome and dangerous monster that is alien to these lands. He further explains: “If you ever find footprints, don’t follow them. You don’t know what might end up being“So you know what you have to do! Head towards the Ancient Forest to the west. Once you pass the fast travel marker, look for hoof prints in the ground. You just have to follow them (she will draw a circle counterclockwise) before he gets out in Lynel territory
A more than fearsome monster if ever there was one. He should easily get rid of your biggest summons. We therefore advise you to harass him as widely as possible. Once defeated, you can memorize the echo. The summon costs 6 Tri-Triangles.
