An important warning to anyone browsing the internet in the next 11 days: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been leaked.
As soon as I get out I’ll say you don’t have to worry about spoilers because I won’t be sharing anything. But the game appears to have been leaked early, less than two weeks before its May 12 release date. So far, photos and videos apparently showing the opening of the game have been shared online on social media, private Discords, and private livestreams. It’s safe to say that you should mute certain words on sites like Twitter, or keep them clear entirely.
The bigger problem for Nintendo is that the game is already reportedly running on PC via emulation, which would make it easier to spoil the game, VGC reports. Emulation itself isn’t illegal, but the distribution of ROMs is, and that’s something Nintendo has historically disliked. VGC also reports that boxed copies appear to be being sold online as well, so be careful if you want to avoid spoilers like the box art.
Last month, Nintendo shared the final pre-release trailer for Tears of Kingdoms, finally introducing us to a hydrated Ganondorf, as fans affectionately call him. Fans have been wondering if we’ll see him in prime physical condition instead of the mummy version we’ve seen so far, and it turns out that this version of the classic character will be voiced by Matt Mercer.
iGamesNews also recently got his hands on the game in preview, saying, “If you’re late and played 100 hours of Breath of the Wild recently, not in 2017, then you’re exaggerating,” and you’ll still find the Kingdom Tears is completely different. However, new additions to the core loop make this feel like a full-fledged sequel rather than just an update. The Power of Fuse steals the show, letting you take an experimental approach to nearly everything you come across. ”
