It’s been a long time since they closed. Wii U and Nintendo 3DS online serversremember that they were closed on April 8th affecting many games prior to Nintendo Switch. That date has arrived and we have already seen what happens when trying to connect. Now we have received some peculiar news related to the servers.

And after learning that some users were still connected online despite the closure, as well as some records and the last users, it seems that there are users who continue to pay homage to these consoles. In 2023, Zion Grassla video producer at Nintendo Life, embarked on a personal mission to revive the StreetPass experience on his 2DS XL, longing for the days of the 3DS and searching for tags at events and busy places.
Now the investigations into the portable console continue. Although SpotPass is no longer available, StreetPass still works. One game that used this feature was Puzzle Swapwhich allowed images to be revealed through new tiles, some of which were exclusive to SpotPass. That’s why a group of fans led by Benny Rochwerg was looking for one last image called ANAでDS, available only in Japan in 2012.
The goal was to recover all the Puzzle Swap panels and create master files so that anyone can download and preserve them on their 3DS. After 13 years of effort, they have managed to obtain the last piece of the rare ANAでDS puzzle, making one member of the team the first to 100% complete all of Puzzle Swap’s puzzles.
Currently, after the departure of the Pokémon player, only three players remain on the servers of other games: Mario Kart 7, Super Mario Maker and Splatoon. We will have to keep an eye on them. more details in other gamesas there have been reported cases where content would have been lost forever if it weren’t for the fans.
