The Dragon Ball franchise has been developing for 40 years. It all started with one man, Akira Toriyama, with a manga that would be part of Weekly Shōnen Jump for 11 years. Toriyama has also contributed to video games such as the Dragon Quest series, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon.
However, some sad news was announced tonight. The official Dragon Ball Twitter account announced that Akira Toriyama died on March 1 at the age of 68 from an acute subdural hematoma. You can see the tweet below. We hope that Akira Toriyama rests in peace, and we send our condolences to his friends and family.
