When they announced to us Dragon Ball Daimamany of us are left with the idea that Akira Toriyama I had barely gotten my hands on the projecta bit like what happened with Dragon Ball GT. However, a recent interview has brought to light something completely different: Toriyama was much more involved than we thought!
In an interview revealed by the Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2024shortly before death of Toriyamahe himself confessed to us that his role in Dragon Ball Daima It was not as minimal as we were led to believe. At first, their participation was supposed to be very limited, but in the end, ended up immersed in almost every aspect of the anime. From the creation of the story to the design of characters and robots, Toriyama was deeply involved.

This revelation has fans excited, as we now know that Dragon Ball Daima is a project much closer to Toriyama’s original vision. This makes it something even more special, especially knowing that it is his last big project. And although comparisons with Dragon Ball GT are inevitable, Toriyama made it clear that this story has a completely different approach.
What has surprised (and infuriated) the followers is the lack of promotion of this new anime. Despite being on the 2025 release calendar, Toei Animation has not made the noise that this project deserves. But with the release date approaching, let’s hope this changes soon!
Dragon Ball Daima Not only does it promise to be an exciting new chapter in the universe of Dragon Ballbut also a legacy of Akira Toriyama himself. Now that we know that he was deeply involved, this anime will undoubtedly be a gem that all fans should appreciate.
