As you know, we have shared with you on the web some of the most curious secrets and details of Super Nintendo World after its opening in Japan. Now we get more news about it in relation to the Universal Studios Hollywood version.
As we have learned, after confirming its opening for the February 17, 2023, now the attractions and facilities present have been shared. They are the following:
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge: This all-new, technologically advanced ride, inspired by the popular Mario Kart video game series, will seamlessly blend cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) with projection mapping technology and real parts along a moving track. Against a multi-sensory backdrop of colour, sound and movement, guests will sit in stadium-style four-seat vehicles as they take family tours through the creative use and integration of head-worn AR glasses. This unique feature is a key point of differentiation that sets this ride apart from other theme park attractions. The attraction’s premise is simple but equally inspiring and challenging, attracting visitors of all ages, regardless of their gaming experience. As part of Team Mario, guests will navigate through underwater and cloud levels to compete for the Gold Cup while collecting coins to defeat Team Bowser and win. The attraction offers an intriguing and repeatable ride with a wide variety of outcomes.
- To the top of the mountain: This towering mount sits at the heart of the zone and also serves as the entry space for Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge.
- Bowser’s Castle: Adorned with an impressive large and mighty Bowser sculpture, this structure serves as a key centerpiece of the area ahead of Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge. As guests navigate the winding corridors and through the ominous castle’s medallion and trophy room to the Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge attraction, they can learn more about Bowser’s meticulous plans to defeat Team Mario for the coveted Gold Cup.
- Pulsera Power-Up: These state-of-the-art wearable wristbands sync with Universal Studios Hollywood’s free downloadable app to enhance the visitor experience within the area and enhance its many interactive elements. These include, but are not limited to, getting individual and team scores, collecting digital coins, and getting keys after winning arena-wide challenges. The wristbands will also invite guests to enjoy extra special interactions with Mario, Luigi and Peach. They will come in six character-themed design options and will be available for purchase both within the zone and at Super Nintendo World stores located in the theme park and at CityWalk.
- interactive game mode: Inside the zone, visitors will be fully immersed in an engaging real-life game world, including hitting Blocks to collect digital coins and a variety of other interactive elements. They will discover a new dimension of Super Nintendo World through the interactive binoculars that use augmented reality technology placed inside the zone. Guests can clear all four key challenges and collect keys to the Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Piranha Plant, and Spike Rock interactive activities to ultimately unlock access to the climactic boss battle with Bowsy. These energetic, family-friendly and fun interactive games will further enhance the entire experience within the zone and immerse guests in the unique world of Super Mario.
- Toadstool Cafe: The area’s signature restaurant, Toadstool Cafe, will serve a gourmet menu perfected by Chef Toad, where he will greet guests as they enter. Menu items made fresh daily include Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots, Super Mushroom Soup, Piranha Plant Caprese, Mario Bacon Cheeseburger, Luigi Pesto Chicken Burger, ? Tiramisu Block and Princess Peach Cupcake.
- 1-UP Factory: What better way to commemorate a visit to Super Nintendo World than by visiting the 1-UP Factory store for collectible memorabilia? 1-UP Factory will offer a wide selection of merchandise, from Mario and Luigi-themed apparel to hats featuring a variety of familiar faces including Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Bowser.
