A new generation of Nintendo is on the horizon, and it seems that publishing giant Amazon Games could potentially release its titles on the Switch’s “successor” in the future.
Speaking with IGN Recently, Amazon Games CEO Christoph Hartmann mentioned that the Switch has been a “fantastic product” throughout its life cycle, and the plan for Amazon going forward is apparently to develop games for Nintendo’s next system.
Hartmann is also personally happy to wait a little longer for Nintendo’s new device, rather than rush this product to market with possible bugs. Here’s exactly what he had to say:
“Yeah, obviously we’re planning to develop games for it and I can’t wait for it to come out. I mean, honestly, I’d rather they wait a year and make it perfect than rush it to market and then have everyone complain to me about what doesn’t work… Switch was such a fantastic product, I can wait another year, and in terms of development, I don’t think most non-Nintendo developers do exclusively Switch titles, we’re always part of a cross-platform portfolio. Just wait.”
As the source noted, Amazon Games hasn’t actually released a game on Nintendo’s platform yet. His previous works include games like A new world and headlines like The lost trunk. It also publishes an upcoming issue Throne and freedomwhich is coming to Xbox and PlayStation this year.
Nintendo has confirmed that it will announce a “successor” to the Switch this “fiscal year.” Some recent rumors have been circulating around the expected release date, with the developers apparently being told not to expect the system in the same window.
