If you come back to the Indie World showcase in April 2023, you might remember the reveal of Animal Well — a beautiful but punishing pixel art platform posted by YouTubers videogamedunkey and Leahbeeis Bigmode. Well, that very game now has a release date and is coming to the Switch on May 9.
Animal Well is one of those games that brings the vibes to a massive amount. You play as a little blob, making your way through a beautiful maze of pixel art and collecting items to help you along the way. The only catch is that this maze is full of animals. And many of them will want to eat you.
Looks like Animal Well will keep us entertained for a while. During Summer Game Fest 2022. Developer Day presentation, Shared Memory developer Billy Brasso said the game is packed to the brim with puzzles, some of which are necessary to progress from A to B, while others are less obvious and planned to be revealed for years to come. Looks like we’re in for the long haul, huh?
