Just a few months after the release of Another Crab’s Treasure on Switch, developer Aggro Crab has decided to release an early playable prototype of the underwater soullike, which was originally shown to investors.
According to the official announcement, this “first build” was made back in February 2021 and can be completed in “about 3-5 minutes”, so expect some crazy high-speed rides. This short version includes the “OG Kril” and an “enemy you might recognize” that also made it into the full release.
If you do have any issues with this version of the game, here’s your reminder that it’s only a prototype and “what you see is what you get”:
“What the sea gets! Haha you get it. It’s like the whole ocean again. Ok, but seriously have fun diving. Remember this was a prototype for investors, not the general public. it’s not working well!!”

When Another Crab’s Treasure debuted on the Switch in April 2024, it quickly surpassed more than 100,000 sales in its first weekend. The Switch version did suffer from some “bad” performance issues at release, but there was still a lot to love in terms of game design, mechanics, and boss fights.
