The Game Boy Advance and Game Boy Color Pizza Emulators company said it is closing its doors on the Android emulator scene. Pizza Emulators has now removed the emulators from the Google Play store where they were hosted. Davide Berra shared the news in a Discord message saying he made the decision because he wanted to “prioritize my family over developing my apps.” The Verge points out that the move follows Yuzu’s $2.4 million settlement with Nintendo and the shutdown of 3DS emulator Citra.
“After seven incredible years of development and adventures with my apps, I’ve made the difficult decision to permanently remove them from the Play Store. I family comes first and for this reason I decided to prioritize my family over the development of my applications. I want to thank each and every one of you for your incredible support over the years. Your words of encouragement, feedback and constant support have been a source of inspiration for me and my work. Thanks again for everything. You were fantastic.”
