During the new Indie World presentation, Nintendo unveiled a vibrant lineup of games from indie publishers and development partners that will be heading to Nintendo Switch system family during 2024. Among many highlights, the video gave gamers the release date of the expected game Little kitty, big city
The showcase also featured a wide variety of unique games from the cozy to the cosmic, including the turn-based tactical shooter SteamWorld Heist II, the latest entry in Thunderful’s popular SteamWorld franchise, launching August 8; Cat’s Quest III, the latest installment in the delightful action RPG series, which invites players to sail across the Puribean in search of mythical treasure, launching on August 8; and Yars Rising, a side-scrolling action-adventure sequel to one of Atari’s most iconic classic titles, Yars’ Revenge, arriving later this year.

- Little kitty, big city from Double Dagger Studios: Peaceful cat catching turns into a whimsical journey as you take on the role of a curious kitten on an adorable adventure to find your way home. There’s plenty to do along the way: explore the vibrant city, complete missions, lend a helping hand to other animals in hairy situations, and make friends with chatty strays. You can also wear over 40 adorable hats as you cause total ruckus in a bite-sized open-world playground full of surprises. Little Kitty, Big City releases on Nintendo Switch on May 9. - Europe by Helder Pinto / Novadust Entertainment and Future Friends Games: On the moon Europa, an android named Zee sets out in search of answers behind the mysteries of a failed civilization. In this 3D action platformer, use Zee’s Zephyr jetpack to glide, fly and accelerate through breathtaking landscapes filled with lakes, meadows and mountains. Solve puzzles and navigate hidden dangers among the ruins as you uncover the story of the last man alive. Europe is coming to Nintendo Switch later this year. The free demo will be available later today on the Nintendo eShop.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: A Fragmented Destiny from Super Evil Megacorp: The heroic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles must fend off the Foot Clan in their first roguelike adventure, traveling through reality-altering portals to rescue their kidnapped master, Splinter. Each level has the potential to change with random power-ups, changing room layouts, and boss modifiers. Permanently upgrade and strengthen your Turtle powers by spending in-game currency on ability-enhancing artifacts and use your increased skills for more challenging races. Explore New York’s iconic locations alone or jump online* with up to three other players in drop-in/drop-out co-op. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is jumping on the Nintendo Switch this July as a limited-time console exclusive.
- SteamWorld Heist II from Thunderful: Get ready for an epic adventure on the high seas in SteamWorld Heist II, the sequel to the acclaimed game SteamWorld heist. All is not well on the waves of SteamWorld – the waters are turning corrosive, eating away at the metal bodies of its robotic inhabitants. As the captain of a ragtag crew of Steambots, you’ll lead them through intense turn-based gunfights where bullets can be deflected with deadly precision. This time around, there’s a world map to explore, featuring real-time naval combat against enemy ships. Also new in this sequel is a job system with extensive character customization options – combined with over 150 weapons, utility items and pieces of ship’s equipment, you can strategically shape your crew to best suit the mission at hand. Immerse yourself in the adventure when SteamWorld Heist II launches for Nintendo Switch on August 8.
- Cat Quest III from The Gentlebros and Kepler Interactive: In a sweet, casual action RPG Cat’s Quest III, you’ll play as a wily feline privateer sailing the Puribean in search of the North Star – a long-lost mythical treasure. But beware! The seas are teeming with Pi-rats, under the orders of King Pi-rat-King to hunt you down. Explore a beautiful new world solo or in local co-op and face fierce battles with a new refined combat system (now with weapon swapping and tighter attack combos). And, for the first time in the series, you sail the seas and fight on your very own ship. Purribean it’s up to you to investigate when Cat Quest III launches for Nintendo Switch on August 8th. - Yars Rising from WayForward Technologies and Atari: From WayForward, the renowned development studio behind Shantae and River City Girls, comes Yars Rising, an action-adventure exploration of one of Atari’s most famous classic titles – Yars’ Revenge. Take control of young hacker Emi Kimura, who is hired by a mysterious patron to infiltrate the mysterious QoTech Corporation. Run, jump, sneak and fight your way through waves of robotic and alien enemies as you slowly uncover a complex secret shrouded in intrigue. The game also features a series of challenging retro mini-games that pay homage to the original Yars’ Revenge. Yars Rising is sneaking onto the Nintendo Switch later this year.
- Sticky job from Spellgarden Games and Assemble Entertainment: In the enjoyable business simulation Sticky Business, you run a sticker shop where you make and send stickers to customers. There are over 400 design elements to choose from, and you can get upgrades — including effect transparencies — for even more options. Learn about each client’s life while meeting their unique requirements. In addition, the paid DLC Plan With Me adds ten more user stories revolving around the theme of journaling and over 100 additional sticker elements. Start your own Sticky Business sticker shop today, with the game and DLC** launching as a console exclusive for a limited time on Nintendo Switch… A bundle containing the game and DLC will also be available later today!
- Lorelei and laser eyes by Simogo and Annapurna Interactive: In this non-linear puzzle developed by the team behind Sayonara Wild Hearts, a woman, invited to participate in a project in an old hotel somewhere in central Europe, gets involved in a game of increasingly nightmarish and surreal illusions. The third-person adventure features more than 100 hand-crafted puzzles with shifting mechanics and perspectives, each one leading players closer to deciphering the enigma. Everything is a puzzle in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, which will first launch for consoles on Nintendo Switch on May 16.
- all. from the Lykke studio: In stitches, create beautiful embroidery patterns by solving puzzles (called hoops) of different weights and sizes. Complete the Hoops in any order you like – each offers a relaxing and soothing experience, with a handy hint feature as well as a variety of accessibility settings. After completing the hoop, you can play it again in Free Stitch mode. The timed Daily Shikaku puzzles offer a challenge and no hints, while the weekly Hoops are inspired by real-life events and full of trivia. all. launches as a console exclusive on the Nintendo Switch later today.
- ANTONBLAST from Summitsphere: The devil himself has stolen your prized ghost collection, and you’re on a rampage to get it back in ANTONBLAST, a dynamic action platformer that combines destructive action with beautiful hand-drawn pixel art. Wielding a Mighty Hammer as Dynamite Anton or a Massive Mace as Dynamite Annie, you’ll ravage wacky worlds and face off against brutal bosses. Break up the landscape to forge your way and find new areas to explore. Once you reach the end of each level, the detonator will start ticking, so you have to hurry back to the beginning before everything explodes. Get ready for a destructively good time when ANTONBLAST launches for Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive for a limited time on November 12th. - Refind Self: The Personality Test Game by Lizardry and PLAYISM: In this exploration-based adventure game, you take on the role of an android, the creation of a now-deceased doctor. There are no right or wrong choices on this journey, and each decision you make reveals a little more about who you are. Travel to places from your memories, interact with other characters, and gradually piece together the future your creator envisioned for you. At the end of your journey, your personality type will be revealed, and with 23 personality types to discover, you can make different choices in each playthrough and see where they take you. You can even share your scores with other players and compare your picks. Find out who you really are when Refind Self: The Personality Test Game launches on Nintendo Switch as a limited-time console exclusive this summer.
- Valley Peaks from Tub Club and those great guys: Valley Peaks is a first-person rock climbing platformer set in a pastel mountain range, full of ribbing villagers. As a new technician assigned to the peaks, explore to your heart’s content and try to overcome seemingly impossible challenges. In between climbs, you can talk to the frogfolk and accept small side quests such as completing stamp cards to unlock gear. Alternatively, sit back and relax with the mini-games as you tend to the needs of the valley’s residents. The mountains are calling in Valley Peaks, they’re climbing on Nintendo Switch this year.
In addition to the featured titles above, the presentation included a montage of even more indie games in the pipeline for the Nintendo Switch, including:
- ANIMAL WELLan action-adventure game that challenges players to explore a dense, interconnected maze and try to uncover its many secrets, releases on May 9.
- Another Cancer treasurewhere you play as a hermit crab trying to reclaim your prized shell in an epic treasure hunt across a polluted ocean, launching on April 25
- SCHiM, A 3D platformer that blends elements of light and shadow directly into its gameplay, launched on July 18.
- Detective Duck: The Secret of Salamia narrative adventure where players will have to use their powers of de-duck-tion to sift through the evidence, fill in the blanks and solve the case, which will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on May 23rd.
- BZZZT, a fast-paced platformer with a retro-future feel, coming out in the summer of 2024.
