Ark: Survival Evolved received a major overhaul on the Nintendo Switch last year with the release of the ‘Ultimate Survivor Edition’.
In case you missed it, it improved visual quality and performance, reduced load times, and added a number of quality-of-life features, including inventory management. Fast forward to 2023, and now another patch has been released (version 2.0.5).
This latest update focuses on adding support for the Ragnarok DLC, but it also comes with a number of fixes and improvements. Here’s a full rundown of what to expect via the official patch notes:

- Non-dedicated sessions are now available
- Fixed a broken condition where wild dinos would stop moving online
- Fixed creature spawn issues
- Fixed broken anti-mesh logic that incorrectly killed players when entering pearl caves online
- Fixed days not saved online
- Significantly improved melee combat performance
- Fixed some creatures lost during ascension
- Fixed a crash that would occur when the Network Error dialog was present
- There are fixed beehives floating on the island
- Fixed tree sap taps
- Fixed external lighting aberration
- Fixed multiplayer movement issues with parachute and zip line
- Improved underwater post-processing visuals
- Improved cave lighting with aberration
- Fixed too bright tooltip icons
- Improved Baby Reaper vfx
- Fixed issues with Reaper King aggro
- Fixed issues with Reaper impregnation while riding the creature
- Fixed visual issues with the Rockwell trophy
- Fixed Manticore trophy colors to be accurate
- Fixed lighting in Rockwell boss arena
- Fixed Rockwell tentacle animation issues
- Fixed an issue where a tamed Megalosaurus would stand while sleeping
- Fixed Megatherium to keep sitting when saving/loading
- Fixed many problems with seams on the ground and crashes on all maps
- Fixed bad movement on flyers if player logged out while online
- Fixed flickering online match icons
- Fixed issues with online opening of map or cycling animation tools
- Fixed creatures in caves to be untamable by design
- Fixed Cryopod tooltip not displaying stats correctly
- Fixed visuals on “She Who Waits” researcher notes.
- Fixed turret with ballista visualizing ammo when it had none
- The cheater no longer breaks on collision with water
