After a successful Kickstarter, Atooi recently decided to change the name of its next switch release, Whip workout chicken. It is now legal to Hatch mythology. At the time, the developer said it was to avoid customer confusion. Over at Atooi's official website, the reason for this decision is fully explained by Jools Watsham.
I often try to shrink from our projects and view them from an outside perspective. I wondered, "How could this game come from someone new?" First impressions are very important with games. The first multiplayer encounter is a new game in the digital store, such as the Nintendo switchch at the Shop. EShop Advertisement! The eShop banner is very important, and I don't think it can be eliminated. The mission of the eShop banner is to communicate that game in a fun and informative way while trying to appear in a sea of other banners around us, so the only remaining customer question is "Do I like this?"
As I walked away from looking back at the Chicken Wiggle Workshop for an outside look, one thing was clear. The name is confusing. It's interesting, of course. A little bit, too, okay. However, I feel that it creates more questions than answers. What is a chicken Wiggle? Is it dance? What is a workshop? Is this a construction game? What kind of game is this? The fact that the game based on the 3DS will not be known to newcomers, therefore the idea that there is brand awareness is not something that the game consumes.
Although the level builder is a "big part" within the game, it's more of a bonus than a main feature. The name Hatch Tales also suggests that there is more story content than before:
Change can be difficult. It can be hard to give up what we've been comfortable with, but I hope you can join me (finally) to adopt a new name. I think it fits the game perfectly and it helps emphasize the adventure aspect of the game, which is really at the heart of the game. The level builder is a big part of the game, for sure, but I feel like it will be appreciated by the players more when it comes as a fun bonus instead of being a key element of the game.
For the cleaners and detailed of the details there, of course, the main character's name is now Hatch, which means Hatch Tales is simply telling the good news about Hatch. 😊 However, it can also be seen from a different perspective, which is very exciting, when you think of a level designer. Each level the player creates can be considered a little myth, they are rare. Players can put on fairy tales, too!
Just another little laugh, before I left. The name, Hatch Tales, is plural. Does this mean there is more content to the story than before? Hm, I wonder…
If you've never played a 3DS original, Hatch Tales is described as its port with new HD art and retro graphics. All levels created in the 3DS version will obviously be included in the upcoming Switch release, which is not yet done today.
