Good-Feel and Spike Chunsoft are bringing Bakeru, styled as BAKERU, to the west on September 3rd. Released in Japan last November as Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!, Bakeru is an action game that has been compared to Konami’s Goemon (also known as Istical Ninja) series of games and features Etsunobu Ebisu, both founders of Good-Feel and key producer Goemon, on the project.

Good-Feel is well known for his work on Wario Land: The Shake Dimension and Kirby’s Epic Yarn on Nintendo WII, as well as the latest game for Nintendo Switch – Princess Peach: Showtime. While Good-Feel was developed and self-published by Baker in Japan, Spike Chunsoft will be the publisher for it in the West.

Nintendo confirmed the news through an announcement trailer that can be seen below.

The eShop page for the Western edition is also now live, with pre-orders open and a demo available for download. Namely, this western version will include two new attacks and enemies that are not present in the Japanese edition.

Bakeru comes with 3.1GB and has an MSRP of $39.99 / £34.99, with a 10% pre-order sale ($35.99 / £31.49) running from now until September 3rd.

Here’s the description from his eShop page:

Disaster struck Japan!

Spectacular action set in fairytale Japan!
BAKERU takes place in the movie “Japanese Fairytale”, a mixture of modern Japan and drama from the old period, which is divided into more than 50 stages.

Fight with Bakeru’s drum!
