Good news for deckbuilding fans dying to play the indie hit Balatro, as the game is back on the Switch eShop today in Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Just a week ago, the game disappeared from the Switch storefront due to “reaction to Balatro’s overnight age tag change.” Today, publisher Playstack took to Twitter to share the news of Balatro’s return. Currently, the game is still unavailable for purchase on the eShop in Japan, but the team is still looking into this.
“Great news!
Balatro returns to the Nintendo Switch eShop across Europe, Australia and New Zealand
(We are still investigating the Japanese eShop – thank you for your patience with this)”
We’ve checked the Switch eShop and the game is indeed available to buy here in the UK, albeit with that new 18+ rating. For comparison, we also checked the North American eShop, where purchases of the game were not affected, where the game retained its E10+ rating.
Well, at least now you can download the game on Switch almost wherever you are. Hopefully the issues with the Japanese eShop release will be resolved soon as well, because the game is absolutely fantastic.
