Bandai Namco Celebrates ‘.hack’ Series 20th Anniversary With New Commemorative Projects & Trailer

Bandai Namco has officially begun its 20th anniversary celebrations for the .hack series, which made its debut on PS2 in 2002.

The ARPG .hack//G.U. Last Recode was most recently released on the Switch in March this year. The anniversary celebrations for the series include books, exhibits, various commemorative goods and more. As part of this, a new trailer has been released:

(1) The release of our .hack//20th Anniversary Book on July 19th!
This anniversary book covers all 20 years of .hack, starting back with the very first title on PS2, .hack//Infection Vol.1!
Scheduled release date: July 19th, 2022 (Tue.)

(2) The opening of our .hack//20th Anniversary Exhibit!
We will be holding our series’ first-ever exhibit at Yurakucho Marui.
Location: Marui in the woods
Period: August 9th (Tue.) to August 28th, 2022 (Sun.)
*This exhibit will only be held in Japan.

(3)The release of numerous 20th Anniversary goods!
-Commemorative Art Work: .hack//20th Game Art Works
Scheduled release date: December 2022
-Commemorative CD: .hack//20th Best
Scheduled release date: December 2022
Vol.1~Vol.3 Total of 3 volumes, all to release on the same day!

(4) Limited-Time SALE of digital publications of .hack starting TODAY!
Period: June 20th (Mon.) to July 4th (Mon.) 23:59 (JST)
Digital publications are sold only in Japan.

This announcement follows rumours of a new ‘.hack’ collection in April. Bandai Namco filed a trademark for “Last Recollection” – with speculation leading to the belief it could containing the first four .hack games.
