There are many comic book fans in our team. In fact, in 2011 we dreamed of making a Blacksad game. We created humorous games for more than 15 years, but with the Yesterday saga, we went on to the suspense genre and introduced a more mature atmosphere and content. Also, Yesterday and Yesterday Origins have a very pronounced cartoon look. Blacksad combined perfectly with the new direction in which we had been incurred. We had already studied American and French black cinema for Yesterday, but with Blacksad: Under the Skin, we focused on American novels and movies of the 50s and especially the recurring character of novelist Raymond Chandler, Phillip Marlowe, whom most of people remember as the actor Humphrey Bogart. His appearance and attitude were for us an obvious starting point for John Blacksad, even if the character experiences some evolution, either in the comics or in the game.
