Be sure to cast your votes in the poll below; but first, let’s look at the box designs themselves.
North America / Europe
Both North America and Europe chose the same design for this game and we can see why. It’s a video game based on a movie, right? So why not embrace the source material with a cover? Michael Keaton’s Batman stands front and center, surrounded by four images from the film featuring Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman, Danny DeVito’s Penguin and, of course, the Batmobile. It may not be the most creative, but it certainly shows where its origins lie.
Japan
Woof. Compared to the movie-accurate real-life images from the previous cover, Japan really went in the opposite direction. This one is much closer to the Batman comic than it is to the movie, with original art of the three leads on a dominantly black cover and carrying the plot onto the back. He doesn’t wear his Burton movie ties quite so much on his sleeve, but you have to respect the bold look.
Thanks for voting! See you next time for another round of Box Art Brawl.
