Tonight we bring you sad news. Earlier this week, it was announced that game designer, programmer and writer Mike Berlyn, who was also involved in gaming companies such as Infocom and Accolade, has died at the age of 73. The cause of death is unknown at this time.
Berlyn has been involved in the development of many retro video games, including Tass Times in Tonetown, Cutthroats and many more. He is best known for being the creator of Bubsy, as a designer for Bubsy in there
Berlyn’s impact on the gaming industry wasn’t just with Bubsy. In 1992, Berlyn and software engineer Marc Blank founded Blank, Berlyn & Co. Later, the company was reformed into Bend Studio. Bend Studio became the developer of the Siphon Filter games and, more recently, Days Gone.
