One of the biggest games on the schedule for next year is Capcom’s latest entry in the long-running Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds. The action-packed game is not intended for the Nintendo Switch and investors asked the company why at the last shareholder meeting. Capcom says the reason is that they want to take “the latest technology to its limits”. You can read the company’s full statement below.
Q: You’ve announced Monster Hunter Wilds for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, but not for portable platforms like the Nintendo Switch. Will this game be limited to these non-portable consoles?
A: One concept we included in this title aims to showcase the maximum of the Monster Hunter world by using the latest technology to its limits. To this end, the platforms that can realize this concept are currently PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. We will provide further details on these concepts and themes in the future when we release information about the game. We hope you enjoy it.
