Next week marks the end of online play and other features for the 3DS and Wii U, and Nintendo isn’t the only one issuing reminders.
Japanese publisher and developer Capcom has now released a message about the shutdown and certain Monster Hunter games that will no longer be playable online. It will also no longer be possible to re-download DLC for titles after services end.
As stated, a full shutdown will occur April 8, 2024. Here is the full notice, thanks the official Monster Hunter social media account:

Important Nintendo Information – As previously announced by Nintendo, online services and functionality for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will be discontinued Monday, April 8 at 4:00 PM PDT. Additional information on affected Monster Hunter titles can be found below:The following titles will no longer support online functionality:
Nintendo 3DS:
– Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
– Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
– Generations of Monster Hunters
– Tales of monster huntersWii U:
– Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate
– Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Packet Relay ToolsPlease note that it will not be possible to re-download any DLC for the listed titles after the online services have ended. However, DLC that was downloaded before the end of online services will remain usable offline.
Players will be able to continue playing multiplayer through Local Play, even after the network services have ended. Please download any desired DLC before the online services end
So if you have unfinished business with the Monster Hunter games on Wii U or 3DS, you have until next week.
In March, Nintendo canceled the ability to merge un used eShop funds (from 3DS and Wii Ua) to a Nintendo account. It also closed the eShops for those platforms last year, and purchases are no longer possible.
