There are companies that have marked us as players and that have allowed the video game world to be as it is today. One of these companies is Atarito which we can recall through the new title Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebrationa collection of retro games.
Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration It will allow us to remember great Atari titles and is part of a documentary about it. Chris Kohlerdirector of Digital Eclipsehas spoken about this title in a interviewindicating the difficulty of introducing so many games and making it give it true meaning.
Next, we leave you with a fragment of the interview:
And how do you begin to condense 50 years of video games into a single collection?
We’re taking a big bite out of the huge cookie, yes. This is where the interactive timeline presentation comes in. If we were to take this massive list of over 100 games spanning 50 years of development and group them all into a single menu called GAMES, I think we would be doing the player a disservice. So everything is accessible via the interactive timelines, in chronological order yes, but mostly in its proper context, so you can chart the evolution of Atari games over the last 50 years. (And of course, if you want to jump right into a single game you know you want to play, you can easily do that too.)
What do you think? Will you get the new game? Leave us your comments.
