Dutch developer 2Awesome Studio has lifted the cover on an upcoming 2D platform called Aeon Drive. Revealed in the & # 39; alpha & # 39; in the trailer above, the game hasn't been confirmed for Switch yet but for its predecessor Size Drive released on the Nintendo console back in 2017 and given the incredible pixel and indie flavor, we would eat our headphones if this wasn't planned for your favorite hybrid backup.
Set in a universe similar to the shmup Dimension Drive (and don't be confused Neon Drive), Aeon Drive is the second developer project and is scheduled to be released sometime in 2020. You find yourself invaded by the Barcelona version of the universe. Playing as a pilot Jackelyne, you'll be shipping through New Barna's wartime routes as you collect dozens of MacGuffins to save (and escape) the world.
With its impressive pixel art and smokey environments, it looks like 2Awesome looks to combine the spirit of cinematic platforms with direct control of something corrupt and responsive. Here is a list of symptoms that appear official press release and other screenshots:
– Mechanics of platformer running fast.
– High quality synthwave art style
– Compete in the form of a distopian Barcelona in the twisted world of cyberpunk.
– Improved scoring system that allows long-term recovery.
– Fixing real-time difficulty in the player's hands.
– Compete against friends using Discord combinations.
– Stream mode.
While there is certainly no shortage of great stage performances in a switch of all flavors, there is always room for more and hopefully we will see Aeon Drive confirmed through the program soon. We really liked Dimension Drive, saying it was "satisfying and as necessary" in our review, so it would be interesting to see what the builder can do in a different format.
