It looks like Motion Twin and Konami are preparing to release a physical Dead Cells bundle that will contain the base game along with the excellent Return to Castlevania expansion. The game has been rated by the Entertainment Software Rating Board for PlayStation 5, and it’s likely that the bundle of good 2D platforming will also be available on Nintendo Switch and other platforms where Dead Cells and its expansion Return to Castlevania are available. Dead Cells: Return To Castlevania Edition is rated Teen by the ESRB.
“This is an action platformer where players control a reanimated corpse trying to escape from an island prison. From a side-scrolling perspective, players explore platforming environments while engaging in frenetic melee-style combat against fantastical creatures (eg skeletons, giant leeches, goblins). Players use punches, kicks, and gadgets (eg flamethrower traps, grenades, arrow turrets) to kill enemies. Enemies drop large blobs of blood when injured/killed and sometimes disintegrate into bloody pieces; blood also stains the floors and walls of some areas. The word “shit” appears in the game.
