Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer Too Kyo Games have unveiled the downloadable content (DLC) schedule for their lucid-noir detective adventure game, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE. The DLC will include four sub-stories featuring the main detectives, with the first titled “Ch. Desuhiko: Charisma killed the cat.” Players will have the option to purchase each DLC individually for $4.99 or opt for the Season Pass, priced at $15.99, which provides access to all four DLCs. Furthermore, the Season Pass is also included in the Digital Deluxe Edition, priced at $89.99.
The first substory, “Ch. Desuhiko: Charisma Killed the Cat,” is set to release on July 27, 2023. In this particular DLC, players will take on the role of Desuhiko Thunderbolt, a detective known for his forensic powers of disguise. Desuhiko Thunderbolt is a young man with a lively personality who often flirts with women under the pretext of an investigation. His ultimate ambition is to achieve fame as a superstar detective skilled in solving mysteries. To aid in his disguise, Desuhiko carries a massive backpack full of various tools.
Desuhiko’s forensic power of disguise allows him to change not only his appearance, but also his voice, height, and weight, allowing him to match the visual and psychological profiles of his targets. Along with the DLC announcement, Spike Chunsoft and Too Kyo Games shared release dates for the remaining three DLCs: one in August 2023, another in September 2023, and the last in October 2023.
In addition, the version 1.30 update patch will be available at launch, with improvements such as minor text fixes, voice and sound effects adjustments, as well as tweaks to maps, characters, graphics, events, and text overlays. The patch also includes various bug fixes and improves the functionality required for downloadable content.
