Tomorrow is a big day for Tomb Raider fans. The remastered collection of the first 3 Tomb Raider games, Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, will be released on multiple platforms, including the Nintendo Switch. That said, you’re probably wondering how well the games perform from a technical and graphical perspective.
Well, as usual, that’s where Digital Foundry comes in. They released a new technical review of the collection. For the Nintendo Switch version, they said the collection “delivers either 1080p60 in docked mode or 720p60 in portable. It maximizes the display capabilities of the system, basically, without breaking a sweat. In every situation, I did not encounter a single problem with the number of images. Remember, there’s always the possibility of a crash happening later in the game, but even if that’s the case, I’d say we’re looking at a near-flawless performance.”
So how is the collection as a whole? Well, Digital Foundry says that “Tomb Raider perfectly achieves what it sets out to deliver across the entire range of consoles. The PC version is technically the best version, but only if you configure it properly using the graphics card control panel”.
