Video game industry area Sports Industry has gathered some notable critics to get their opinions on what they think the gaming industry will be like this year. One of those interviewed, Dr. Serkan Toto of Kantan Games, has denied that we will see a new Nintendo Switch update this year at a price of $ 399.99. Dr Toto expects that sometime during the summer holidays the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are both suitable for the holiday season.
Change the Pro implementation – There is no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will introduce “Switch Pro” by 2020, my guess is $ 399. Specifically, I predict 4K support, larger cartridge sizes, and custom built parts. I also think the device will unveil it after the summer holidays to deal with the release of the PS5 and the next gen Xbox of the year – as well as the first game, the seller of the program.
Other Microsoft games on the switch – The love affair between Microsoft and Nintendo is likely to continue, with the advent of big Xbox games on the switch. I have some doubts about xCloud coming to the Nintendo device in 2020, though.
Further increase in subscriptions – I expect Sony to finally roll out the PlayStation Now and Plus for the same price in 2020. Microsoft may also be adding xCloud to one of its already running services. Next year, Nintendo will also add N64 games to Switch Online. These services mark the biggest turning point in the video gaming business model – even if it's mobile, I predict Apple Arcade will lose its popularity by 2020.
An awesome mobile game from Nintendo – At the time of writing, Nintendo has yet to announce what's coming after the Mario Kart Tour of smart devices. The following should be a big name, so I expect another franchise from the company to mobile by 2020, e.g. The Zelda or Smash Bros. app (don't support) is integrated with a new partner. The following year should also mark the release of Nintendo's first apps in China.
