As all Dragon Quest fans know, Square Enix held a special live show yesterday for the 35th anniversary of the series. In this presentation several very important announcements were made and one of them was a remake 2D-HD de Dragon Quest III, one of the most loved titles by fans of the franchise. It is an adaptation to the new times, which has pleasantly surprised all fans of the series.
It should be noted that the producer of this remake is Masaaki Hayasaka and he’s worked on games like Octopath Traveler before, so obviously this title looks a lot like it. As well, Yuji Horii, mentioned that Square Enix was open to more games like this, based on the original Dragon Quest game and its sequel..
This is the message he shared:
We may later make a remake of [Dragon Quest] 1 and 2… so maybe one and two are some kind of unexpected surprise.
In a later question, Horii was asked if the one and the two would also be remade and this was his answer:
We want to do it, but it is not official yet.
So that, Everything seems to indicate that we will see remakes of the first two installments of the saga in the future. However, it should be remembered that the 2D-HD remake of Dragon Quest III still does not have a confirmed release date or more details beyond a small trailer, and it does not have confirmed platforms, but hopefully both this remake and the first two entrefas are released for Nintendo Switch.
What do you think?
