IGN recently spoke with John Shepherd, VP, Executive Producer at Electronic Arts, about the company’s next installment of the wildly popular FIFA franchise on the Nintendo Switch. The name was changed to EA Sports FC 24 after EA refused to pay a ridiculously high price for the FIFA brand name and they put more effort into this year’s Nintendo Switch release. Shepard told IGN that EA FC 24 for Nintendo Switch will be comparable to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game and also said that it really runs great on the Switch hardware. You may remember that the previous FIFA games on Switch were based on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of FIFA. That all changed now that they finally got the impressive Frostbite engine up and running on Switch.
FC 24 is, however, “comparable” to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game in terms of shared features, John Shepherd, vice president, executive producer at Electronic Arts, told IGN.
“He will have all the ways. It is more representative of the Xbox One, PS4 gameplay, than it would be the PlayStation 5, the last generation of the game. There are a few differences, just because of the hardware, but the game works great.”
“It’s been years, just trying to get it to work really well on Switch,” Shepherd said. “We reviewed it with Nintendo not too long ago. Everyone is very excited about it.
