We bring really curious information from a recent report of British Gas, one of the UK’s leading power and energy companies. He has recently published a very peculiar report on how we can save energy with consoles, and this has not gone unnoticed among fans.
Specifically, the document includes data as curious as these:
- Switching devices off instead of putting them on standby saves each UK household around £147 a year
- A desktop console in standby mode costs up to £12.17 a year, while laptops plugged in in the same configuration cost around £11.22
As you can see, the figures are a little disproportionateso immediately has received criticism of fans who question it:
[El artículo] is woefully inaccurate. A typical TV uses 0.5 to 1 watt in standby mode or 2 watts when communicating with the Internet, even TVs from a decade ago. That’s £1.23-£4.91 a year, a far cry from the quoted £24.61. That would be 10w. Since 2013, a range of devices in the EU cannot exceed 0.5W in standby mode or 1W if it has a display (eg microwave clock).
However, the news has caused such a stir that the debate has been opened about leaving the consoles in standby mode or completely turned off. What is it that you do? You can share it in the comments.
