Some of you may remember that Imagineer released in the past Medarot Classics Plus Japan. Well, Nintendo was recently accused of allowing piracy in the eShop as a result of this premiere.
This is because Imagineer did not give credit to the author Endrift of one of the emulators used, the Game Boy Advance emulator mGBA, despite the fact that the title, according to the indictment, ‘contains strings that match unique configuration names of [mGBA]». Added to this is that the emulator’s credits have been intentionally removed, which would mean that Nintendo is offering “a pirated emulator in a third-party title” on its official store.
The best solution for this would be for Imagineer to launch an update
The video game industry does a lot of scummy things, but taking someone’s open source software that they poured thousands of hours into and ignoring the EULA — which BY THE WAY allows for commercial use — is completely shameful. They stole this and stripped the credits out. https://t.co/OzYcZsnPt4
