It’s not the first time we’ve heard that Epic Games wants to keep cheats at bay Fortnite. Today we have been able to learn about this thanks to a message that has been shared on the official website of the game.
While acknowledging that eliminating cheats is a great challenge In this year that begins, he says he has no plans to give up and will continue fighting to make Fortnite as fair as possible. We leave you with your message:
Happy New Year, Fortnite competitors:
Throughout 2019, our competitive and anti-ramp teams have worked together to expel from the tournaments and the Arena those players who violated our Code of Conduct in a competitive manner or any official rule that affects Fortnite competitions. Our main goal is to support fun, inclusive and in tune competitions with the general spirit of Fortnite. Unsportsmanlike conduct is not part of that spirit and will not be tolerated in Fortnite competitions.
COMPETITIVE INTEGRITY FOR 2020
Looking ahead to 2020 and subsequent years, our team will continue to closely follow the competitions in all regions and will take action against foul play when necessary. On the occasion of this new year of competitions in Fortnite, we wanted to highlight a specific rule and clarify the cases in which we would take action from now on:
Rule about partnering with others in competitive Fortnite:
Players cannot work together to cheat or cheat other players during a game ("Ally with others"). Here are some examples of allying with others:
- Form teams: players who collaborate during the game despite being in rival teams.
- Planned moves: an agreement between 2 or more rival players to land in locations specific or move around the map in a planned way before the game starts.
- Communication: send or receive signals, both verbal and nonverbal, to communicate with rival players.
- Drop objects: leave objects deliberately to be picked up by a rival player.
Throughout the past year, players have been sending and receiving signals more frequently in official Fortnite competitions, to the point that many have begun to have doubts about the scope of this rule.
By 2020, starting on 01/20/2020, we will take action against all types of communications between rivals where the signals within the game are used in official tournaments. These include, among other things:
- Turn the beak
- Use gestures
- Throw toys
- Skip
Now, any case of using signals such as those indicated above will carry a penalty for forming teams / partnering with others. We want to make it very clear that the pacifist style of play is still allowed, but if signs are included, we will review the case and take appropriate measures to apply a penalty for teaming up / allying with others. Repeat players may receive major penalties.
If you see something, don't shut up
